There are certain important things to keep in mind if you are thinking of getting into the food truck business.

This business plan has neither a fixed cuisine nor a fixed location. It has arrived as a successful food business plan in the recent days, and the people with low budget can think of investing in a business plan like this.

Choose the Right Food Truck.

The initial thing in the food truck business is to choose the right food truck as it is dependent on the cuisines to be offered. Most of the commercial vehicles are 18-Feet long and any new truck would cost around Taka 5-6 lakhs. If you plan to buy a second hand vehicle it would cost somewhere between Taka 3-4 lakhs. There are plenty of truck options in the market to choose from.

The vehicle can be modified by paying a little extra, according to the needs and requirements of the vehicle. The modification would cost around Taka 30,000 50,000. There will be a renting option too; which would be around Taka 30,000 - 40,000 depending on the vehicle.

Choose the right location

A food truck business purely depends on the area you have chosen. The best place would be near colleges or offices; mostly where you can find young crowd. The truck should be at a good location where it doesnt clot and can be seen easily. The best option to get a right location is to have a light vehicle as a lot of busy areas dont allow heavy vehicles. So, choosing the right size would help in finding a good area for business.

Kitchen Equipment Required for a Food Truck

A food truck would have a microwave, fridge, griller, burner, freezer, oven and other stuffs like utensils and disposables to serve etc, and all of this would cost around Taka 2-3 lakhs. The electronics for the truck will have warranty, so its better to have new electronics as it can be exchanged or replaced easily.

The raw materials should be fresh. The stored material would not cost anything beyond Taka 30,000.

Licenses and Permits Required for a Food Truck Business

There is no such clear-cut rule for a food truck business, only a certain set of documents are required. These are the few documents needed for a food truck business.

There are consultancies that help with the paper work and other related work and charge you a minimum amount as fees.

Manpower Required in the Food Truck Business

The most important thing is to find a good chef, who is an expert in the cuisine chosen for the business. At least 4-5 people will be required for handling the truck, 2 chefs, 2 helpers and 1 delivery boy. The salary can be negotiated and fixed. Delivery system would give a little boost to the business as not many people like to wait and this option would give them a choice to sit home and enjoy the food.

Marketing the Food Truck Business

Distributing the menu pamphlets around the area would do the job, but choosing the right location is very important and also having a tempting yet affordable menu card would give a great push to the business. The food trucks presence in the social media would also give some hype, using hashtags and uploading food pictures and also by participating in other food pages would gather foodies. By offering good discounts and other coupons would also attract customers.

Being active on different social media would bring great audience; make sure to ask the foodies for feedback and tags.

Some other options can be tie-ups with event planners or societies or one can also be alert about various events. The food truck business can be a hit, if you look into everything and choose your options properly. Have a fancy menu, pocket friendly and a good location and you are all set for the business.
