Country Witnessed 6.66% Growth in Export Earnings

The export of agricultural products experienced increase of an 18.7 per cent during the period, as the country had exported agricultural products which are worth $60.90 crore.

The countrys export earnings in the first eleven months (July-May) of the current fiscal year (FY2018-19) have seen a 6.66 per cent growth producing $3372.88 crore drifted by the good performance of garment, jute and jute-made goods and agricultural products.

May was 9 per cent higher with $332.24 crore and export earning in May last fiscal year (FY17) was $304.76 crore.

According to the figures of Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) for the July-May period of the present fiscal, showed an 11.48 per cent growth. Woven garment accounted for $1,418.85 million having a growth of 8.15 per cent and knitwear export maintained its positive trend fetching $1, 398.11 crore.
